About

I have discovered that many people, and especially seniors, don't know how to get rid of their stuff. They find themselves overwhelmed by a lifetime of accumulated clutter and don't know where they would even start. Because of this barrier, that clutter is left to gather dust for the rest of their lives, and eventually it ends up in a landfill. Meanwhile, the needs of our community go unmet!

The KEEP IT SUPER SIMPLE (KISS) method and this website are my solutions to this problem. The KISS method is an easy to follow, step-by-step guide to help you on your way to a cleaner, more relaxing home, and this website serves as a list of the businesses in the area who can help people get rid of their stuff, as well as all the organizations who could benefit from the donation of household items.

While this list originally only covered organizations in Mountain View County, it has now expanded to include some locations in the Kneehill, Rocky View, and Red Deer counties as well.

Each list includes contact information and a list of accepted donations for local food banks, animal shelters, schools, libraries, seniors lodges, second-hand stores, FCSS organizations, and more!

My hope is that this website will help you stay stress-free during the downsizing process, and at the same time help meet unmet needs in our community, and keep valued items out of landfills where they can continue to do good and serve their purposes.

If you know of a need in your community that isn't represented on this list, please reach out through our contact form with the name, phone number and email address of the group.

I ask that you please share this website with your friends, family, coworkers and anyone else in your community who you think could benefit from this list.

Let's make a difference!

Sincerely,

Melody Knutson
